Chapter 8 – Secrets at Sunset
Years passed again, but this time their hearts stayed close. Ryan and Sophie built their life together with small moments, not big plans. They learned that happiness doesn’t need noise. It needs care, patience, and love that forgives. Every morning started with peace, every night ended with gratitude.
Sometimes, they talked about the past. Not with pain, but with understanding. Ryan once said, “We lost each other once because I wasn’t strong.” Sophie smiled and replied, “But you found me again because you learned what love means.” He nodded gently. “I’ll never let time steal us again.” She looked at him and said, “We’ll keep this love safe. Always.”
Their marriage wasn’t perfect, but it was real. When small problems came, they solved them together. When one was angry, the other stayed quiet until peace returned. They never went to sleep with hurt in their hearts. Ryan would often hold her hand and whisper, “We’re okay, right?” Sophie would smile and say, “Always okay.”

For a moment, they both stayed silent, feeling peace inside. The light around them faded slowly, and Ryan whispered, “No more secrets, right?” Sophie looked at him lovingly and said, “No more sunsets without you.”
They smiled at each other, eyes full of love. The pain of the past was gone. What remained was calm, real happiness — the kind that doesn’t fade.
